Lalela FAQ
Is Lalela available yet?
Not yet. Lalela is in early development. lalela.dev runs Lalela's collector as its first test.
How much does Lalela cost?
Pricing has not been set.
Does Lalela use cookies or track people?
No cookies. Lalela is built to analyse AI agents, not people. Human visitors' IP addresses are shortened before they leave the site's edge and are not stored.
Does Lalela read users' conversations with AI assistants?
No. An assistant never sends the user's conversation to the website it visits, and Lalela never tries to obtain it. Questions shown in Lalela are inferred from which pages an agent fetched, or are the search queries an agent chose to send to the site's /ask endpoint.
Which platforms are supported?
The first version targets sites on Cloudflare and Vercel. WordPress, Netlify and server-log import are planned later.
Does Lalela slow down my site?
It shouldn't. The Cloudflare Worker and Vercel middleware send events after the response has been returned, and fail open: if Lalela has a problem, the site keeps working. The Vercel log drain is outside the request path entirely.
What data does Lalela collect?
For each request it keeps the time, path and query string, status, user agent, network (ASN and owner), country, referrer, and the request headers that identify agents. Requests from AI agents keep their IP address so the agent can be verified. Likely human visitors have their IP address shortened at the edge, and no human IP address is stored after classification.
What data does lalela.dev collect?
lalela.dev logs requests from AI agents and other automated clients in full, including their IP addresses, to study how agents behave. For likely human visitors it logs a sample of requests with the IP address shortened, and stores no IP address after classification.
What is llms.txt, and does Lalela make one?
llms.txt is a proposed convention: a Markdown file at a site's root that tells AI agents what the site contains and where to find it. Lalela plans to generate one for each customer, listing short answer pages so agents can go straight to what they need.
How is Lalela different from Cloudflare's AI crawler reports?
Cloudflare reports which AI crawlers visit and lets you allow or block them. Lalela focuses on why agents visit: the questions behind user-triggered fetches and what your site fails to answer. It runs alongside Cloudflare, not instead of it.
